Maspeth Dentist Dr. Khaimov interviewed on ABC7

Maspeth Dentist Dr. Alexandra Khaimov, was interviewed on Long Island Viewpoint on ABC7. Dr. Khaimov is helping her local community by organizing events, including food drive in December, Halloween Candy Buy Back in November and event Free Emergency Dental Days where she offers dental care at no cost.

Dr. Khaimov wants to educate people how to take care for their smile and prevent their teeth from cavities and gum disease. According to her, proper care for our mouth can save us from root canals and loosing out teeth.

Implant Dentist Maspeth NY: Dentures

Dr. Alexandra Khaimov, Implant Dentist Maspeth NY: Most people would be surprised to discover that the American Dental Association (ADA) recommends replacing a denture every 5 to 7 years. Although dentures are durable, they won’t last forever and as dentures age they become more porous and capable of housing harmful and odor causing bacteria.

The side effects associated with wearing dentures older than 7 years are numerous and range from accelerated resorption of the gums, to headaches and bad breathe. Since the mouth is in a constant state of change a replacement denture every 5-7 years also helps to maintain a healthy natural appearance.

Dentist Maspeth NY get you cavity free…for free – Queens Ledger

When Carmen Negron’s mother lost her medical coverage this past year, including dental benefits, she wasn’t expecting to find a helping hand at no cost. However, after hearing about Grand Dental Smile’s free dental day, she had to go and check it out.

“I first thought to myself, ‘what’s the catch?’” she said.

Come to find out, there wasn’t one. On Sept. 20, Dentist Maspeth NY Dr. Alexandra Khaimov sponsored the organization’s second free dental day at their Maspeth office at 69-77 Grand Ave. Anyone in need of a cleaning, extraction or dental emergency was helped at no charge.

“It’s an amazing experience because of all the people you get to help,” Khaimov said.

On the first free dental day at their Elmhurst location, Khaimov helped approximately 45 individuals through free cleanings and other procedures. Though there was a smaller turnout at their second free dental day, she stressed that helping even one person made the work worth the effort.

Dentist Maspeth NY, Dr. Alexandra Khaimov explained the importance of regular dental check-ups at least every six months.

“People think because it doesn’t hurt there is not a problem,” she said. “But that is not a reason to neglect regular check-ups.”

For those without dental benefits in today’s economy, many also think that it is impossible to pay for such procedures.

“You can’t afford to neglect your dental health,” Khaimov said.

Warning signs that you need to see a dentist include bleeding gums when you brush and/or floss your teeth.

“It’s terrible when people wait to be seen and their teeth are covered with tartar,” Maspeth dentist Khaimov said. “You shouldn’t want till it becomes a bigger problem.”

As for Negron and her mother, they’re on the right track with their daily dental routines. After a cavity filling for Negron and a tooth extraction for her mother, both are following up with a dentist for help with dental hygiene.

“If I hadn’t gone that day with my mom, I never would have gotten checked out,” Negron said. “It’s best to catch it early.”

Dentist Maspeth NY Dr. Alexandra Khaimov and Grand Dental Smile is planning other free days and events for the future. Call (718)-255-1381 or check out their website at dentistmaspethny.com.

Cosmetic Dentist Maspeth: Teeth Whitening

Cosmetic Dentist MaspethCosmetic Dentist Maspeth:Best Choice Family Dental has two choices in teeth whitening procedures; one is accomplished by thepatient at home while the other method is completed in the dental office. At home treatment requires a visit to the dental office only to have a customized whitening mouthpiece, or tray, made from a mold of your teeth. While at home, the patient places the whitening material in the mouthpiece, so that when placed in mouth the whitening gel evenly covers the teeth. The mouthpiece remains in place for a specified period of time depending on the concentration of the active ingredient in the gel. Although at two to four weeks, the in home method takes much longer to complete, the results are impressive. It is not uncommon that the end result is 4 to 5 shades brighter.

However, if you want speedier results and have a bit more to spend on teeth whitening, the in-office method may be best for you. During this procedure, the whitening solution is placed directly on the teeth. Then, a specialized light activating device “ZOOM” operating at controlled wavelengths is aimed at the gel-covered teeth at timed intervals until all of the teeth have been exposed. The entire procedure lasts an hour and the patient will normally leave with a smile that can be up to 8 shades brighter.
